This debut program was a chance to explore a diversity of experimental music. Bounding an eclectic soundscape that began with Zongamin’s re-imagined “Yuru Yuru” and the hypnotic music of Don Couto, Ghost Frequency explores themes of timeless memory with Asa Horvitz’s “Drown in Matter” (from the outstanding album GHOST) into KINDA BLUE’s reflective “Intro : all those times.” Then, the delightful melodies of Bana Haffar’s “Ahl Al Samaa'” and Sara Persico’s “Rashid Karami” serve as sonic bridges between cultural traditions and modern experimentation, resonating with dialogue that are conjured in the previous songs.

I’ve done a lot of radio, but this was my first time hosting music in a long time. I think I was mildly rusty, but nothing a SOS pad won’t fix.

From those songs, it felt right to build on a spectrum of moods—from the playful intrigue of Mirusi Mergina’s “Opheilia's curse” to the otherworldly voyage through Sigillum S’s “Through the Endless Streams of Satellite Euphoria.” You then amble into the warmth of Miki Yui’s “Summer Night,” which contrasts with the grit of Anushka Chkheidze’s “Rooftop Machines.” Then, interludes like sogumm’s “Letter” and Mermaid Chunky’s “frogsporn” spark curiosity and challenge expectations.

Finally, Ghost Frequency wound down with the quirky energy of Insect Repellent’s “Ultrasonic Mouse Repellent” and the expansive composition of Full Fucking Moon’s “Litany of the Oceans, Pt. 1.”
