We’ve always had complicated relationships with technology. For centuries, each advancement has both eliminated jobs and reshaped culture. Today, nowhere is that tension sharper than with computers, our dominant tool for reading and writing.

Writers once railed against the cold efficiency of “the word processor,” much like vinyl collectors push back against the sterility of streaming. They insisted typewriters carried a certain warmth, a tactile intimacy that machines could never replace. Yet that resistance faded, and history marched on.

This program is about pausing that march, by breaking with the familiar and rediscovering warmth.
